Unity has acquired collaboration tool for artists SyncSketch.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

SyncSketch is based in California and was founded in 2016. The company's software targets artists, animators, and VFX professionals and is a real-time visual communication tool aiming at facilitating collaboration on assets. SyncSketch supports 2D, 3D and video.

Its clientbase includes Frontier and Activision Blizzard.

In its announcement, Unity said it's on a mission to "enable creativity anywhere and on any device," following its recent acquisition of remote access platform Parsec in August, and of course Weta Digital earlier this month.

"With this acquisition, we are doubling down on productivity tools for the Unity creator community," the company said.
