It's our 15th birthday, and we're celebrating it at our annual Summer Party in Brighton, UK.
We're being joined by our co-hosts Jagex, Wish Studios and Amiqus for the evening, which takes place on July 12th at Patterns, our Brighton seafront venue - so it's an ideal night out for attendees of the local Develop In Brighton conference (note: this is a separate event).
Tickets are available right here for £35 per person, and includes free drink (all night) and our traditional midnight bacon sarnies. Doors open at 8pm and the party doesn't stop until the early hours of the morning.
The party takes place over two floors, with plenty of space to network and chat. We will also have a dancefloor downstairs and a terrace for those that want to enjoy the sea air (be aware, that drinking will be prohibited on the terrace after a certain time by the venue's discretion).

GamesAid brings you a night of comedy hosted by Imran Yusuf, the man who took the UK comedy scene by storm after his debut in 2010. Joining him will be Mick Ferry, one of the UK’s most sought after comedians, having appeared in Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Comedy Central’s Comedy Store, his fine brand of ‘lugubrious surrealism’ will not disappoint. The line up is not for the faint-hearted as TV veteran and Comedy Network headliner Rob Rouse will chime in with his famous ‘cheeky banter’, whilst the internationally acclaimed Malawian, Daliso Chaponda will bring his endearing and hilarious stage presence that has consistently tickled the international stage to this unmissable night. Update Events will hold DrinkUp, a plug and play social mixer for over 200 game industry professionals and business service providers on Thursday 9th October from 7pm onwards. The event, which will be held at Shooters Sports Bar in The Printworks, is an opportunity for North West game developers to meet and share their games in a relaxed environment, while also making valuable new business connections.

The Story will be a celebration of everything that is wonderful, inspiring and awesome about stories, in whatever medium possible. We’re hoping to have stories that are written, spoken, played, described, enacted, whispered, projected, orchestrated, performed, printed – whatever form stories come in, we hope to have them here.
The Story is not about theories of stories, or making money from stories, but about the sheer visceral pleasure of telling a story. Whether it is in a game, a movie, a book, or a pub, we’ve all heard or told or been part of stories that have made us gasp, cry or just laugh.
