Mobile games earned $41.2bn globally during H1 2022

While mobile game revenue was down 6.6% year-over-year, downloads were up 0.4% as they reached 28.1 billion

During the first half of 2022, mobile game consumer spending reached $41.2 billion, according to Sensor Tower's latest report.

The figure represented a 6.6% year-over-year decrease when compared to the same period from 2021.

The report added that during the six month period, Google Play generated $15.6 billion and was down by 14.8% year-on-year.

Tencent titles Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile were the two highest revenue generating games, each having earned more than $1 billion in consumer spending.

RPG Honor of Kings amassed $1.4 billion whereas PUBG Mobile made $1.1 billion.

With regards to other titles' earnings, Genshin Impact however brought in $986.2 million in player spending. Candy Crush Saga consumer reached $593.5 million, and Roblox made $576.5 million during that time.

While mobile game revenue was down during H1 2022, downloads across both digital storefronts where up 0.4%, as they reached 28.1 billion globally.
