Hot Wheels Unleashed wins best game at Italian Video Game Awards

LKA's Martha is Dead snags Best Innovation, Nacon Studio Milan takes home Outstanding Italian Company, and more

Last night, the 10th annual Italian Video Game Awards took place, showcasing some of the best talent hailing from the country.

Developer Milestone took home the Best Italian Game award for racing title Hot Wheels Unleashed, released last September.

Best Italian Debut went to puzzle platformer Vesper from Cordens Interactive, while Best Innovation was awarded to horror title Martha Is Dead from Florence-based outfit LKA.

Nacon Studio Milan took home Outstanding Italian Company, and Italian games veteran Ivan Venturi received the award for Outstanding Individual Contribution.

The ceremony also gave a look at some upcoming titles from Italian studios, including SBK22, also from Milestone, Batora: Lost Haven from Stormind Games, and Soulstice by Reply Game Studios.

Last year, we spoke to Milestone about the origins of the studio, and how it worked to create a Hot Wheels game not just for children, but for its own existing audience too.
