Wylde Flowers and Overboard among winners at 2022 Apple Design Awards

Gibbon: Beyond the Trees, A Musical Story and Marvel Future Revolution also took home accolades

Apple has announced the winners of its 2022 Design Awards, celebrating inclusivity, innovation and social impact among game and app developers.

Farm simulator Wylde Flowers by Australian developer Studio Drydock took home an award in the Inclusivity category for its "refreshingly diverse storyline and case of LGBTQIA+ representative characters."

In the Delight and Fun Category, Inkle's detective game Overboard picked up an accolade, while A Musical Story, from French developer Glee-Cheese Studio, collected the award in the Interaction category.

For Social Impact, Gibbon: Beyond the Trees from Austrian studio Broken Rules was awarded for its "environmentally conscious storyline."

In Visuals and Graphics, Gameloft's Canadian arm took home an award for its work on Lego Star Wars: Castaways, which boasts a "cinematic feel, sizzling visual effects and tactile gameplay."

Lastly, Netmarble triumphed in the Innovation category for Marvel Future Revolution, an open-world RPG designed for iPad and mobile.

Other non-game winners across the categories include art app ProCreate (Inclusivity award), (Not Boring) Habits (Delight and Fun award), Slopes (Interaction award), Rebel Girls (Social Impact award), Halide Mark II (Visual and Graphics award) and Odio (Innovation award).
