Sony announces live action adaptations of God of War, Horizon, and Gran Turismo
Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO says its music & PlayStation IPs present the "greatest opportunity" for more streaming content distribution
Earlier this week Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn are being developed for TV while Gran Turismo is heading to film.
As reported by VGC, the news of the titles being adapted for live action follows the company's ongoing efforts to expand its media offerings.
Amazon will be streaming the God of War TV series, while Netflix has obtained the rights to stream Horizon.
Since 2020, the entertainment firm has announced TV series or films for PlayStation franchises such as Twisted Metal, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, as well as Jak and Daxter.
Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Tony Vinciquerra further detailed the company's ongoing media strategy.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, he said that Sony's IPs from its music and PlayStation brands present the "greatest opportunity" for "more flexible distribution options to meet streaming demands for content."
The live action film adaptation of the Uncharted franchise released during February of this year.
