Zordix acquires Maximum Games for $42m

Purchase of publisher/distributor includes additional earnouts of up to $30m

Today Swedish gaming firm Zordix has announced it has acquired publisher Maximum Games.

The purchase was in the amount of $42 million with an additional potential earn out of up to $30 million in shares and cash.

Founded in 2009, Zordix has a number of development studios that have created titles like Dustoff Z, and it has also published externally developed titles such as Ponpu and The Lightbringer.

Maximum Games was established in 2009 and helps companies publish and/or distribute games physically as well as digitally. It has previously worked on releases for high-profile titles like Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Among Us, and Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid.

"With Maximum Games on board, we are now equipped with an incredible infrastructure that has a history of proven success in all aspects of game publishing," said founder and CEO of Zordix Matti Larsson.

Within the past year Zordix has acquired Merge Games and Invictus Games while also serving as the parent company of Dimfrost Studio as well as Zordix Racing.
