GameStop COO leaves after just seven months

Jenna Owens' responsibilities will be "absorbed by other members of the company's management team"

GameStop's executive vice president and chief operating officer Jenna Owens has left the company after only seven months.

As reported by Reuters, a regulatory filing dated from October 28 indicated that GameStop and Owens had reached a "separation agreement," effective October 25. No reason was given for her departure.

"The responsibilities associated with the position are being absorbed by other members of the company's management team," the document read.

Owens had joined GameStop in March, after four years at Amazon and four years at Google, among others.

GameStop has had a new CEO since June, with Matt Furlong joining from Amazon where he was head of its Australian business. A new CFO also joined the company at the same time, with Mike Recupero also coming from Amazon.

In September, GameStop reported its second quarter earnings, with the company reporting net sales up 26% to $1.1 billion, with net losses of $61.6 million compared to a $111 million loss in the previous quarter.
