Tencent's TiMi opens new studio in Montreal

Offices joins the company's Seattle location working on a new multi-platform AAA title

TiMi Studio Group has opened another AAA studio in Montreal, marking the company's third location to open in North America.

TiMi, owned by Tencent, is best known for working on popular mobile titles such as Call of duty: Mobile, Honor of Kings and Pokémon Unite.

The studio joins TiMi Los Angeles and TiMi Seattle, which are divisions of the China-based firm. TiMi Montreal will join Seattle -- which opened last month -- in focusing on the creation and development of a new AAA, open-world, service-focused IP for multiple platforms.

TiMi also revealed that Tencent America executive Sinjin Bain will serve as executive producer at TiMi Los Angeles, which serves primarily as a management hub.

Back in April, Reuters reported that TiMi generated $10 billion in revenue during 2020.
