Valorant coming to mobile

PC version of Riot's free-to-play shooter already has 14 million active players

Riot Games announced today that it intends to expand the Valorant franchise with Valorant Mobile.

The announcement however provided no details regarding a release date.

Since its launch in June of 2020, Valorant now has more than 14 million active players monthly.

"One of our top goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global fps community, and to prove to them that Valorant will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter," said executive producer of Valorant Anna Donlon.

"To see our growing player community recognize and appreciate what we're trying to do with Valorant is beyond what we could've expected and we're thrilled to soon offer the same competitive Valorant experience to even more global players."

Additionally, Riot Games shared that the Valorant Champions Tour, its year-long esports tournament series is well under way.

The tour is comprised of a three stages: challengers, masters, and champions. Each leg of the competition will determine the qualifying teams for the next round. The champions portion of the circuit will ultimately determine the global champion.
