Zynga closes acquisition of Peak for $1.8 billion

Mobile giant takes on Istanbul studio along with Toon Blast, Toy Blast

Zynga has closed the acquisition of Istanbul-based mobile studio Peak, for a total purchase of $1.85 billion.

Peak is the creator of mobile match-3 games Toy Blast and Toon Blast, both of which will come under Zynga's umbrella with the acquisition. The games have a combined total of 12 million average mobile daily active users.

The team at Peak will still be led by CEO Sidar Sahin and the existing management team at its current Istanbul office.

"We are delighted to welcome Sidar and Peak's extraordinarily talented team to Zynga," said Zynga CEO Frank Gibeau.

"With the addition of Toon Blast and Toy Blast, we are expanding our live services portfolio to eight forever franchises, meaningfully increasing our global audience base, and adding to our exciting new game pipeline."
