GamesIndustry International acquires GameHorizon conference

Conference and business network to return; details of 2013 showing in December

GamesIndustry International has acquired executive conference and business network GameHorizon.

The event has been successfully running for the past five years and features top industry executives - 2012's line-up chaired by Charles Cecil featured sessions from Unity's David Helgason, Torsten Reil of NaturalMotion, CCP's David Reid and Eidos life president Ian Livingstone.

"GameHorizon has established a reputation for being one of the best venues for games industry executives to hear about the latest developments in the business and network with their peers. We're excited to be taking on the brand and look forward to announcing our plans for it soon," said Rupert Loman, MD of Eurogamer Network, which publishes GamesIndustry International.

More details on the future of the GameHorizon conference will be unveiled at a special networking event taking place in Newcastle on December 5, in association with Game Republic.

Excellent news! GameHorizon is a great conference - maybe with GamesIndustry.biz behind it we can see more of the Southern developers attending :-) ... it's much more laid back than Develop Conf - more about the people, I reckon.

How does one go about acquiring a conference? Did you kick down the doors and storm in armed with guns, legal documents and a biro?

If GH is more relevant that e current crop of Develop lectures and talks, then I am sure the southern counties will turn up for sure.
However there is only so much mobile, social, casual talks/ postmortems, monetization one can physically handle and a good platform agnostic, back to basics look at making solid ames are surely a good formula for universal appeal
